The process of cellular aging was subservient to scientists. Each time a new cell reproduces, the person gets older. It is due to the shortening of telomeres, the special structures that cover the ends of chromosomes. Israeli scientists believe that they found a way to reverse this process and increase the length of telomeres. This interesting study involved 26 patients. For five sessions, they were in a pressure chamber with oxygen.

The procedure had been carrying out for three months, five sessions a week for 90 minutes. As a result, the telomeres of some cells were expanded by 20%. The result of the experiment was impressive. In the past, many researchers tried to implement it.

But the very fact of using hyperbaric oxygen therapy can affect telomere length, proving to be a convincing link that deserves attention and further study. Researcher Shair Efrati at Tel Aviv University explained how unusual the idea of the experiment turned out to be. The reason was the experiment with twins conducted by NASA. In it, one twin was sent into space, and the second remained on the Earth.

Scientists identified a significant difference in the length of their telomeres and concluded that the external environment has a powerful effect on the cell nucleus and causes changes that occur in the body during aging.

Telomeres act as repeating pieces of code; they act like the DNA, like the plastic equivalent that covers the end of a string. Each time they divide, they copy themselves along with the rest of the chromosomes. But tiny pieces of code cannot get into a new copy with every replication, with the result that every new chromosome becomes a little shorter.

And the further you go, the higher the risk of dangerous mutations in the chromosome. They coincide with changes, which, in fact, lead a person to old age. Scientists believe they are close to stopping this process.

There are opportunities to solve the problem of lack of sleep, to correct the passion for overeating, to establish the presence of children. Chromosomes can be influenced not only artificially. If you adhere to proper nutrition, an active lifestyle and regular physical activity, then youth, including cellular, will last much longer.
